Immersive Explorer is an alternative to Window’s default Explorer in Windows 8 Modern UI Style (metro). It’s NOT a Windows 8 app store application. It’s a stand alone x86 application you can run on both Windows 7 and Windows 8. Note: if you have Surface or running Windows RT on any ARM tablet, this application will not work on your device.
Download the application here. This app is still in early stage of development, hence it still not a replacement rather an alternative to the default Windows File Explorer. You can perform some of the basic tasks with Immersive Explorer if you enjoy using Metro UI apps.
