AT&T is rolling out a slew of exclusive Windows products, adding the Samsung ATIV Smart PC and the ASUS VivoTab RT Windows 8 tablets to its holiday lineup. The carrier didn’t say much about pricing and availability, but promised the two tablets will be here in time for the all-important “2012 holiday shopping season.”

AT&T released a statement Thursday detailing the two devices and said it would be the only U.S.-based carrier selling these specific Samsung and ASUS tablets. That doesn’t mean you won’t find them in big-box retailers, but don’t bother looking for them in Verizon, T-Mobile or Sprint stores.

Both the 10.1-inch VivoTab RT and the 11.6-inch ATIV Smart PC will run on AT&T’s 4G network. The devices are set to compete with the all-dominating iPad, and we’ll probably see Microsoft’s own Surface device stealing sales from third-party hardware manufacturers.

Microsoft is expected to launch its Windows 8 platform and Surface RT tablet at a New York event on Oct. 25. Like most other Windows 8 device makers, Microsoft has yet to reveal pricing details. CEO Steve Ballmer has previously hinted at a price range between $300 and $800.

AT&T also announced on Thursday that it will carry Samsung’s Android-based, 4G-connected Galaxy Camera, which will be available in the coming weeks. But keeping in line with its other product announcements of the day, there’s no word on pricing.

We’ll see more product announcements like this from other major carriers in the near future.
